Newcastle NSW

A total of 11 Smart Soaker units were installed as part of the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) development. The Smart Soakers facilitate passive watering of existing street trees as well as reduce stormwater runoff volumes by infiltration through the sandy soils so that essentially the pollutant export is practically zero.

Mt Evelyn VIC

Approximately 10 Smart Soakers were installed to reduce stormwater runoff into Little Stringybark Creek. The Smart Soaker systems were key to the stormwater objective of reducing volumes of runoff back down to the pre-developed volumes to protect Little Stringybark Creek. Decades of research on this creek placed it in a unique position to demonstrate that managing volumes of stormwater runoff effectively managed creek health. Smart Soaker is proud to be a part of this project.

Ikon Apartments VIC

Smart Soaker Pits where installed on Kingsway at Glen Waverley Station to passively irrigate new trees that are planted in an impervious landscape.

Monash Depot VIC

City of Monash undertook a comparative assessment of numerous devices to capture street pollutants and passively water the landscape including a concept that council was developing themselves. The Smart Soaker was located closest to the gates of the waste transfer station and other devices located further downstream. Therefore the Smart Soaker was subject to the greatest pollutant loads. Comments noted from council indicated that the pollutant capture performance was very good. The unit remains in place today and the non-Smart Soaker units further downstream have been removed.

East Brighton VIC

Numerous Smart Soaker tree pits were installed in 3 separate locations throughout the area to passively water trees in the nature strip and reduce stormwater pollutants. The Smart Soakers have been installed along with other WSUD devices to enable a comparison in performance in both passive watering and pollutant retention over the medium and longer term.
